Leigh Wallenhaupt, violinist, received her Masters in Music in Violin Performance from New York University, her Bachelors in Music in Violin Performance from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, and her high school diploma with a specialty in Violin Performance from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. Leigh also performs on the viola professionally, and begin studying viola in middle school. Leigh lives in Austin, Texas, and has enjoyed performing at Austin City Limits, South by Southwest, and with recording artists Miguel, Father John Misty, and the Black Pumas. Leigh works with luxury events agency Élan Artists as a contractor and events producer, as well as a frequent performer on events throughout the United States and internationally. Leigh also directs Suzuki Strings of Austin, a Suzuki Method program of 6 teachers serving over 75 young violinists, violists, and cellists in the Austin area. A “Suzuki kid” herself, she began Suzuki Method violin at the age of 3. When she is not performing or teaching, Leigh enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her pets.
